[A Face in Silent Keeping]

It pains me to see that such a good song...

..doesn't get the recognition it deserves, and I know the feeling. At the time of writing this review, it has but over two-hundred sixty listens. It really makes me wish that Tom had a treasure hunt for audio submissions, as this doesn't need to be overlooked.

I, myself am not too familiar with the current styles of modern music, but I really love the mood this piece sets. Such a mellow and cool feeling song is something rare to find on the Portal these days. The slow, but driving groove behind the song whisked me away to a different world, as your voice guided me like a spirit through the ether...

As far as constructive criticism, the only thing I can think of is that the song should be able to end with a bit more finality, but that's just nitpicking. It sounds great the way it is currently. I'd also mention something about including more dynamic contrast, but the low volume the song takes itself at is what give it its distinct feeling.

And lastly, would you mind sharing the inspiration behind the lyrics? Other than that, great work, and it would be a pleasure to hear any of your future projects...

Old-World and New Age

This song has a really good mix of the old and new, and I especially love that Middle Eastern feel at the beginning and end of the song. My only real complaint for this song is that in the middle phase, it is really easy to get lost in the music, and not notice any real changes in the melody. It's not a major problem, but one that can cause a passive listen to the song. Either way, good work with the song, and best of luck to your future endeavors.

Classic Feel

I absolutely love how this song goes from a like Atari feel, to a MegaMan feel, and back again. It really captures the heart of digitized music, and the addition of real instruments as well is certainly icing on the cake.

The main lead is a bit overbearing at times, but I think that's what gives this song its charm. Other than that, I can't really think of any other negatives for this song, otherwise, I'd be nitpicking. Anyway, good work.

Impressive...

...Use of the FL Core. I've not much experience with FL studio, but this sounds really good if you're just using the stuff that comes with it. Here's hoping for a contest win!

(The vocals are just a bit off-putting to me, but that's just a personal preference.)

[Stand For The Final Fight]

Quite Fitting...

This theme sounds like it would be very good for the last stage in a very frantic shoot-em-up, or as final boss/regular boss music in a fast paced platforming game.

However, towards the end, I kind start to lose my attention to the song, so as a game theme, that might be a good thing, but for general listening, maybe not so much. This loops very cleanly, though.

[Empty headed]

The Chicken Wasn't Cooked All the Way to 350...

This is a very nice, smooth, and mellow song. Developer wise, this could be used as a BGM for an opening cutscene to a game (wink, wink, nudge, nudge).

My score would have been higher, but the stretch from about 0:38 to 1:05 has that conflicting sound... I don't know, are the instruments during that part in the same key?

Regardless, this is a good song for a piece written during a brain drain. Kudos.

Finally, something worth all of my 10!

Alright, this piece was amazing! Could not find any flaws with musicianship at all in this one. The transitions between mellow and more energetic parts are very smooth, and emotion is very present. Sounds like the kind of music I would use in a thinking game, to set the mood. Overall, great work, a wonderful addition to the audio community.

Also, my headphones had an orgasm from those stereo effects.

Awesome First Song

Ah, it's great to have a new audio artist around here. This song is a great start, there is a great deal of emotion all throughout the song, first starting off slightly chaotic, then slightly calming, and finally to a restful cut off. Only one complaint about the song, around 0:20, the sounds are conflicting, and kind of hurt the ears. A good way of showing the feeling of a headache, but we didn't really have to feel it...

Expecting more greatness to come...
